PHB installed a new loading and unloading jetty for sulphur in the Port of Aqaba to allow the operation envisaged in the terminal expansion.
Rehabilitation and expansion project of the industrial terminal of the port of Aqaba. The works included the rehabilitation of the existing industrial terminal, a new jetty, 3 ship loaders and 1 unloader, a sulphur storage facility, new buildings, roads, interconnecting piping, and the modernisation of the entire conveyor-belt system.
The most significant features of the port:
- The seaside consists of a 190 m berth on piles.
- Two structures parallel to the coastline, supporting two loaders of 2,500 t/h capacity each.
- Two mooring dolphins, an access bridge and two connecting bridges among structures.
